Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow Out for 2023 Season with Wrist Injury
Head Coach Zac Taylor Announces Torn Ligament, Requiring Season-Ending Surgery
Burrow Expected to Make Full Recovery, Aims for Mid-May Return
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2023 season after suffering a torn ligament in his right wrist during Thursday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Head coach Zac Taylor made the announcement during a press conference on Friday, revealing that an MRI confirmed the severity of the injury and that Burrow would undergo season-ending surgery.
Burrow had reportedly been spotted wearing a brace or sleeve on his right wrist before Thursday's game, but he was not listed on the Bengals' injury list. Despite the injury, Burrow led the Bengals to a 34-20 loss.
The Bengals quarterback is expected to make a full recovery from the injury and is targeting a mid-May return to full activity. Burrow has already undergone successful surgery to repair his throwing wrist.
