A Historic Night: Hogs Shut Out UAPB In Season Opener

A Razorback Rout

A Defensive Masterclass

The University of Arkansas football team opened their 2023 season with a dominant 44-0 shutout victory over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Saturday night at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The Razorback defense was the star of the show, holding UAPB to just 129 total yards of offense.

UAPB's offense was unable to get anything going all night, as they were held to just 35 rushing yards and 94 passing yards.

KJ Jefferson Shines

Quarterback KJ Jefferson had a solid performance, completing 14 of 21 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Jefferson also added 43 rushing yards on seven carries.

Jefferson's favorite target was wide receiver Jadon Haselwood, who had four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Other Offensive Standouts

Running back Raheim Sanders led the Razorbacks in rushing with 90 yards on 14 carries.

Tight end Trey Knox also had a big night, catching three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.

The Razorbacks' offensive line did a great job of protecting Jefferson, as he was not sacked once.

Conclusion

The Razorbacks' season-opening victory was a great way to start the year.

The defense was dominant, the offense was efficient, and Jefferson looked like a star.

The Razorbacks will look to continue their winning ways next week when they travel to face the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station, Texas.
